last weekend eric and i went to bremerton to hangout with my grandpa so my parents could take off. they went to the lavender festival in port angeles (where i was born). they went to lunch at the fruit stand and market that my dad helped the owner build and where my mom worked about 30 years ago. i am so glad to help them, they truly deserve it. and yes, i really look like my mom we came home saturday night so we could go watch jill race at the alpenrose velodrome challenge. it was so fun to see her race, despite the massive sunburn i got. she was more than a little intimidated by the banking and the aggressive nature of the races (read: 15k in prize money) but stuck it out. honestly, she is one of the most kickass women and racers i know. photo thanks to jose you can watch one of the many horrid crashes that took place over the weekend. hurry go watch it before it gets taken down. nathan frechen, from team beer, uses someone's disk wheel as a ramp and goes airborne almost making it over the rail. i need to find a team to train with. i want to be able to race the avc next year. hopefully the psu cycling team will provide the support and training i need. also, i want to race cross but can't really afford a bike now (if ever). i am considering pimping out a 50$ mountain bike off craigslist. any thoughts?

people post things all the time when someone famous they admire dies. usually it is a musician or writer. i wonder why people are mourning the loss of someone who produced something that will continue to exist after their death. you don't know the person, and it is the thing they produced that you are attached to.

last night sheldon brown died and i finally understand the feeling. it is to lose someone you have never met but whom you admire, and whom has as huge impact on your life. enough impact that you feel close and you are truly saddened knowing they won't be riding their bike around on the same planet any longer.

this is my favorite photo of you. since the first day i found your website and read until my eyes crossed, i have always love this photo and pictured it when someone mentioned you or your wonderful website. i wish i had had the chance to meet you.

i hope someone will print his website in book form as it is RIGHT NOW. i understand it is easiest to search electronically, but there should be a preserved copy of all he has compiled in case the website ever goes down or someone else takes over editing it, or simply, for history.

today we met a bunch of lady bunnies. monkey's favorite was heidi (above). heidi has one eye. together they have one set of teeth and three eyes!

friday we will go meet heidi again and if they get along, i will slowly introduce heidi our house!

i had two starbucks interviews today and will set an interview with the italian bakery tomorrow.

once i have paid my rent, bills, credit cards, & student loans and purchased food and another flickr subscription (oh noes, my flickr expires TOMORROW! eek.)... i would like one or two of the following. it has been a long time since i spent money for fun.

1.
